Basically what this expansion does is give your council an ungodly amount of power in your realm. You'll spend the vast majority of the game fighting for control of your own kingdom with them. Many times, the way they vote is completely arbitrary and nonsensical. People who love you to death and are in your debt for things like titles, gifts, etc., will stab you in the back and refuse to allow you to pass laws, declare war, revoke titles, or do virtually anything. Basically, you'll be spending most of your game sitting around not really able to do anything, constantly requesting council support just for them to say no, and having your lands constantly broken up because you aren't able to pass primogeniture laws because a bunch of your vassals hate you for not being on the council despite the fact that there's only a handful of positions available.With this DLC installed, you'll quickly learn that the right man for the job isn't the most qualified person, it's the person who is most likely to do what you ask them to do. The result is that you'll have an extremely inefficient kingdom that will get the things you want done maybe 30% of the time. And like I said earlier, be prepared for nonsensical decisions by your enlightened council. You've got the Muslims on your doorstep and need every available levy you can for an upcoming war? Too bad, your council just forced you to shift their obligations towards taxation instead of providing levies for no reason. Enjoy fighting the Umayyad doomstacks with your paltry 3,000 strong army from your demesne (which is likely very small since your council won't let you centralize the government or revoke titles from counts within your duchies).In short: don't buy this. You'll enjoy the game much more if you don't. This DLC was released with the intent of making the game "more realistic," but as usual with Paradox, they overshot the target and gave the council an unrealistic amount of power as opposed to a realistic amount.. Makes you actually care about your vassals, good DLC. If you had to choose a singl DLC for CK2 would be this one.Makes the game much more alive.
